A beautiful young lady we met at the Salvation Army in Semu village, Malawi. She is poor, no doubt, but doesn't that smile just speak volumes about joy?

ahhh. beautiful.
very beautiful.
there is just something about those kids in africa.
and the way that they smile.
simply captivating.
.
i was somewhat near malawi this summer for acouple months.
botswana, and zimbabwe.
the people... are just breathtaking.
:aww: I'm glad that you seem to understand the meaning of this photo - probably only people who've seen it will really...if that makes sense. :) Anyway that's cool that we share that - African kids are truly amazing!

What were you doing in Africa?? :D

I love bananas!
Africa Africa.
my sweet second home.
...
well i've spent my last two summers there.
Botswana mostly, but also surrounding countries.
... zimbabwe, s. africa, zambia ...
...
i was with this organization[sort of]
called global expeditions.
we were doing relief projects and other things like
HIV/AIDS awareness
Vacation Bible School for the kiddos
Digging holes

and my favorite part:
just getting to know the people.
talking to them.
learning about them.
learning with them.
learning their culture.
...
simply amazing.
i wouldn't rather have spent my days anywhere else.

she is truly beautiful. I love it when poor children from africa radiate such joy...it really shows that we should be grateful for living, and that money isnt everything in this world.
